After Care Instructions
We suggest that you eat before your appointment because you will only be able to drink water for 2 hours after the treatment. Do Not brush your teeth prior to coming in to avoid any irritation to your gums.
For the first 24 hours you should not eat or drink and high color foods or beverages. High color beverages include coffee, tea, red wine, colas and most fruit juices. White wine and beer are OK. High color foods include red meat, anything with tomato sauce, most vegetables, mustard, catsup, gravy etc.
Acceptable foods include anything that is white or tan in color. Chicken, pork, potatoes, pasta, rice, bread, most cereals, banana, pears etc. The reason for this is the pores on your teeth will be open for 24 hours and highly susceptible to staining, so strict adherence is very important.
Do not use any type of mechanical toothbrush (48 hours), and brush using the Sensodyne toothpaste provided at your appointment for two days or until empty.
